Arizona Coyotes announce sports lawyer Xavier A. Gutierrez as new president

Arizona Coyotes Owner, Chairman and governor Alex Meruelo has announced that Xavier A. Gutierrez has been named as the club’s new President, CEO and alternate Governor.

Gutierrez becomes the first Latino team president & CEO in NHL history.

Gutierrez has a 20-plus-year profession as a company executive, investor and dealmaker focused on investment management, corporate technique & operations, finance, and company development, and joins the Coyotes from his position as Managing director at Clearlake capital Group.

“I am very happy to name Xavier as the first Latino team president and CEO in Camiseta Feyenoord NHL history,” said Meruelo. “This is a historic day for the Coyotes and the entire NHL. I have Camiseta ACF Fiorentina known Xavier for over a decade, and he is a Camiseta Stade Rennais FC seasoned executive with over 20 years of company and investment experience. We share the same method to company and his intellect, leadership skills, and tactical mindset made him the clear choice to be our new CEO. He is a leader with remarkable vision and integrity, and I have the utmost confidence that he can help the Coyotes become a world class organization on and off the ice.”

Gutierrez received his Bachelor of Arts (AB) cum laude in government from Harvard University, and his doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from Stanford law School.
